Olympic area

The Olympic area is a district of Munich, also known as Olympic Einkaufzentrum due to the large and popular shopping center. This district has its place forever in history as the turning point of peace and terrorism. Less than 30 years after the Holocaust and the defeat of Nazi Germany, the birthplace of the Nazi party held the 20th Summer Olympics and an entire park and several stadiums were built to host the Olympics in this district. Many people saw the Olympics as a turning point for Munich, especially with the Israeli Olympic team participating in the games, however, the massacre of Israeli athletes in the Olympic village and at the Fürstenfeldbrücke NATO airport greatly astonished the world and cast a dark shadow over the district.
